OnTime Distribution Inc. of New York is recalling a brand of turmeric spice over concerns that it may contain lead.
Some bottles of the recalled produce — PRAN brand Spice Powder turmeric — were found to contain high levels of lead that could cause health problems to consumers, particularly infants, small children, and pregnant women.
Too much lead can cause health problems, including brain damage and learning deficiencies.
