Bras Make Breasts Saggier: 15-Year Study

Women who think they’ve been doing their figures a favor by wearing bras are in for a surprise: A French study finds that bras actually make breasts saggier.

"Medically, physiologically, anatomically — breasts gain no benefit from being denied gravity," Researcher Prof. Jean-Denis Rouillon, a sports science expert from the University of Besançon in eastern France, says. "On the contrary, they get saggier with a bra."

Rouillon and other researchers measured the changes in the breasts of 330 women over 15 years and found no evidence that bras relieve back pain, and that left alone, breasts become more tone and support themselves.
