What would you do to lose weight? Live on baby food? Drink vinegar? Simply breathe? Weight-conscious Americans — even celebrities — embrace even the wackiest of diets. Although Newsmax doesn't endorse them, here's a look at some of the more unusual weight-loss plans:

1. Maple syrup

A favorite of Beyonce, this is also a cleanse and a type of fast. A combination of maple syrup, lemon juice, spring water, and cayenne pepper, it's also called the "lemonade diet." Dieters drink eight to 12 glasses of the mixture every day — and nothing else — for up to 10 days.
