Dr. Vliet: I'll Quit If Healthcare Bill Stands
Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet of Tucson, Ariz., a women's health expert and NewsmaxHealth.com contributor, says she will quit her medical practice if the new healthcare reform law isn’t overturned.

“The Hippocratic oath says very clearly that we pledge to do what is in the best interests of the patient to the best of our ability and judgment,” she told Fox News.
The new law prevents that, she says. Physicians will have to follow regulations set by the Health and Human Services Department, and a member of Congress said they’ll make the rules as they go, she noted.
“I don’t want someone with that attitude telling me what I have to do for my patients,” she said.
Bottom line, Vliet said: “If this goes forward without the challenges under the constitution being planned, then yes, I would be forced to leave a career I love and have worked hard at, because I won’t compromise my principles to give my allegiance primarily to my patients.”
