Question: Is there any cure for nodules on the vocal cords?

Dr. Hibberd's Answer:

All nodules on vocal cords should be evaluated by an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Most nodules are benign and are often related to overuse (a very common condition in singers), but they can be a precursor to cancer, especially in smokers, and those need more aggressive management.

Sometimes the nonmalignant nodules clear with simple voice rest, but most are removed, often by laser assistance, to avoid a larger procedure later should they grow. Inflammatory processes can also induce nodule formation, and as with any condition in medicine, it is always best to address the underlying precipitant if at all possible (such as stop smoking). Steering clear of vocal cord stress and overuse will decrease recurrences and avoid unnecessary procedures.
