Question: How does someone overcome tremors from a stroke?

Dr. Hibberd's Answer:

Stroke is one of the causes of “tremors” which results in unintentional, somewhat rhythmic, muscle movement involving to-and-fro motions of one or more parts of the body. In your case, the tremors are due to the injury that your brain has suffered during your stroke.

Sometimes when the injury to the brain tissue isn't major, the tremors can go away. Your doctor will be the best person to give you medications if your tremors are bothersome.

Some people improve co-ordination of movements with physical therapy. Eliminating “triggers” such as caffeine from diet has also helped some people.
