Has A Root Canal Left My Face Permanently Swollen?

Question: I recently had a root canal that left that side of my face swollen and black clear to my breast. I looked like a monster. The dentist said I was allergic to the bleach, but he didn't just put a drop in. He called it “flushing” and squirted a lot into the open canal. Since then, I had another dentist finish the root canal and I was not allergic to either the shot or the bleach. Someone told me that the bleach entered my soft tissues and caused the problem. It has left me with headaches and a mouth so swollen that I keep biting the sides. What do you think?

Dr. Hibberd's Answer:

I can’t see your face, so I'm not sure how your face looks. Your friend may be right, but if so it's definitely the "needle in the haystack" kind of answer. Send a picture so that I can better understand what has happened. The facial planes are not contiguous with your breast, so I need more information to answer your question.
