Question: I have psoriasis under my toenails and over various spots on my body. What treatments do you recommend? It is very unsightly.

Dr. Hibberd's answer:

Do you also have arthritis along with the psoriasis? The best treatment is individually determined by the treating physician. He would assess the type of psoriasis, the severity, and the total body area that is involved, and treat you accordingly. For psoriatic arthritis, systemic medications are generally required to stop the progression of permanent joint destruction. Please make an appointment with your doctor soon.
