Question: Can I get injectable vitamin B12 from a pharmacy without a prescription, or do I have to see a doctor?

Dr. Brownstein's Answer:

Injectable vitamin B12, though very safe, requires a doctor’s prescription. One source of holistic physicians is the American College for the Advancement in Medicine (ACAM). For For a list of ACAM doctors--Go Here Now.

If you use injectable vitamin B12, I suggest using either hydroxycobalamin or ethylcobalamin versions of vitamin B12. Avoid the synthetic form of B12, cyanocobalamin.
