Question: I tore two cartilages in my left wrist. My doctor prescribed Celebrex for the inflammation and said to give it six weeks to heal. I’d like to know if there is any supplement that would help to heal the tears more quickly.
Dr. Blaylock's Answer:
Vitamin C (buffered) in a dose of 2,000 mg three times a day taken on an empty stomach will promote healing. Hyaluronidase also will help. It can be taken as a capsule, but the injectable form may be more effective and can be injected directly into the joint.
Hydrolyzed type II collagen can sometimes stimulate healing of torn cartilages. A product made by Pure Encapsulation called Collagen JS is of high quality. Lysine is also a component of collagen and can promote healing.
Finally, curcumin and quercetin dissolved in a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil taken three times a day will reduce the inflammation better than Celebrex and with far fewer complications. A product called Triple Stack, from Specialty Pharmacy (http://www.specialtyrx.com/) has been shown to be very helpful for many.
