Question: What supplements do you recommend for Crohn’s disease?

Dr. Blaylock's Answer:

There is growing evidence that Crohn’s disease is an immune disorder involving the small intestine that may develop as a result of reactions to food allergens, such as gluten and gliadin. I would strongly recommend having an extensive food allergy/intolerance testing.

There is also evidence that probiotics can improve the condition. I like the Theralac brand. It may take as many of 1 trillion organisms to get the full benefit. Taking five capsules twice a day for at least two weeks (30 billion organisms per capsule) can be quite beneficial.

Anti-inflammatory supplements, such as curcumin, quercetin, hesperidin, natural vitamin E, and ellagic acid also reduce bowel inflammation. Magnesium and zinc have also been shown to be beneficial.
