You can easily find age-defying supplements, and you won't even have to wade through swamps or fight off alligators like poor Ponce De Leon in his quest for the Fountain of Youth. Just head to your local vitamin and health food store or shop with quality manufacturers on the Internet.

The following 10 powerful supplements will help protect your brain and body against damage at the cellular level, which can lead to rapid aging, chronic illness and dementia. You can learn even more about the benefits of supplements by reading my special report "Key Vitamins That Save Your Heart, Prevent Cancer and Keep You Living Long."

1. Curcumin. High concentrations of this flavonoid are found in the spice turmeric. A number of studies have shown that curcumin is a powerful and versatile antioxidant. In animals, it has reduced the amyloid plaques linked to Alzheimer’s.

2. Silymarin. This is an extract of the milk thistle plant. Like curcumin, it has demonstrated major protection for the brain against abnormal aging. It exhibits no toxicity in high doses.

3. Ginkgo biloba. This is a plant extract that is particularly helpful in protecting brain cells. Ginkgo aids blood flow through the microscopic arteries in the brain and heart and improves glucose utilization by the brain (glucose is its main fuel). Do not take Ginkgo with other anticoagulants, such as aspirin and alternative blood-thinners.

4. Aged garlic extract. When garlic is concentrated and aged for six months to a year, it takes on enhanced antioxidant abilities and has been shown to protect the brain against abnormal aging.

5. Acetyl-L-carnitine. This natural product is used by all cells to produce energy. It also enhances the production of acetylcholine, which is an important neurotransmitter for learning and memory.

6. Alpha-lipoic acid. This versatile antioxidant reduces brain aging, removes mercury from the brain, enhances brain energy levels and can lower blood sugar. For more information on how alpha-lipoic acid can extend your life, read my newsletter “Extend Your Life: 4 Supplements That Will Help You Live Longer.”

7. N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC). This substance tremendously helps the formation of cell glutathione, which is an extremely important part of the antioxidant system. It also removes toxic mercury from the body.

8. Selenium. Selenium is a powerful antioxidant and is critical for brain function, especially mood control.

9. Vitamin E. Natural vitamin E, which consists of chemicals labeled alpha, beta, gamma and delta plus four types of tocotrienols, protects cell membranes from free radical damage.

10. Vitamin C. This antioxidant, which is used in the production of energy and neurotransmitters in the brain, should be taken it its ascorbate form.

My report "Stop Aging Naturally"will give more in-depth ways to slow the relentless march of time.
