Question: When is it time to see a professional about my brain?

If your behavior, thoughts, moods, feelings, or memory are getting in the way of your ability to be your best at work, at school, or in your relationships, then it’s time to seek professional help. If you’re experiencing financial problems due to impulsive behavior or consistently poor choices, it’s time to get help. If you’re having trouble at school or at work because of problems with your memory or your ability to focus, it’s time to contact a professional. And if your relationships are suffering because of your moods, feelings, or actions, that too means it is time to get help.

If you’re worried about being able to afford professional help, consider this. It can end up being far more costly to live with an unhealthy brain than to seek help from a professional.
