Kim Kardashian has had one on her reality show "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami." So have other celebrities and average women in the pursuit of a more youthful appearance.

It's the latest celebrity anti-aging craze, called a "blood facial" or "vampire facial," in which a doctor draws blood from the arm, separates out the plasma and platelets, and then applies the platelet-rich plasma onto the face. For extra absorption, micro-needles are used on the skin before the facial is applied.

There's no evidence the cosmetic procedure works against the appearance of aging. But dermatologists say there's no probably no harm in it, and the procecure probably doesn't break any U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations.
