It’s a miracle fitness trainer Steve Jordan is among us – never mind the fact that he is in impeccable shape and responsible for some of the celebrity world’s best-looking bodies.
Today he trains Dustin Hoffman, Ann Curry, Lisa Kudrow, Quincy Jones, Gerard Butler, Rocco Dispirito, Brad Paisley, and many other big names.
But when he was 19, he nearly lost his life in a terrible tragedy. Jordan fell off a balcony and landed on his head, suffering a traumatic brain injury. He persevered through a grueling three-year recovery that actually left him stronger than before the plunge. He credits exercise with saving his life, and today he inspires others to be the best they can be.
After Jordan’s accident in 1994, his prognosis was grim. He suffered facial paralysis, short-term memory loss, and was psychologically traumatized. But Jordan possessed the steel mindset of a scholar-athlete, having served as captain of his high school lacrosse and football teams. His body never failed him then, and it wouldn’t now, he vowed.

“I had tools that I knew that I could count on,” he tells Newsmax Health. “Exercise was always something that I found to be a way to challenge myself, to build myself from the inside out. And I used exercise to be able to do that here.”
To regain strength and feel more in control of his body, Jordan returned to the weight training that served him well in high school. But this time, he focused on recovery from his injuries.
Goal-oriented exercise is the lesson he learned, and it’s one that he now shares with his clients.
“Whatever it is, your intention has to be clear,” he says. “And if you have a clear intention, your results are going to be much clearer and more productive as well. It was clearly more about recovery at that time.”
Jordan shares this philosophy on the website Pazoo.com, an online health and fitness social community focused on people and their pets. Jordan is one of the site’s wellness experts, dispensing workout advice.
What advice does Jordan offer if it’s been a while since you’ve worked out?
“Nike said it best: Just do it,” he says. “It really is just a matter of taking that first step. The first step is the hardest step ... If you fall off one day, don’t beat yourself up. Just get back in the game and go at it.”
